PawsScript ("we", "our", or "the app") is a pet health record application for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.
We built PawsScript to be offline-first. Your pet's health data is stored on your device by default and only synced to the cloud if you choose to create an account.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the app's core features.
All pet health records are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. The app is fully functional without an internet connection or an account.
If you create an account, structured health records (pet profiles, vaccines, prescriptions, medications) are synced to Firebase Firestore — a secure cloud database provided by Google. This allows you to restore your data if you switch devices.
Pet photos, gallery images, and scanned document images are not synced to the cloud in the free tier. These stay on your device only.
PawsScript uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
We use Firebase Authentication and Firebase Firestore to manage user accounts and cloud sync.

If you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple may provide your name and email address (or a private relay email). Apple's handling of this data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google provides your name and email address from your Google account.

PawsScript Premium includes AI-powered scanning for prescriptions and vaccine cards. When this option is used, PawsScript sends data to Anthropic, Inc. (a third-party AI company based in the United States) via the Claude API.

The OCR (text recognition) used to read vaccine cards and prescriptions runs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. No image or text data is sent to Apple or any server during scanning.
Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Your data may be disclosed only in the following circumstances:
You can delete your account directly within the app by going to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated cloud data from our servers.
You can delete all locally stored data by going to Settings → Data & Privacy → Clear All Local Data. This removes all pets, vaccines, prescriptions, and photos from your device.
You can disable notifications at any time from Settings → Notifications within the app, or from your iPhone's Settings app.
If you used Sign in with Apple with a private relay email, you can revoke PawsScript's access to your Apple ID at any time through your iPhone's Settings → [Your Name] → Password & Security → Apps Using Apple ID.
PawsScript is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
